Ondo has launched three tokenized portfolios based on investment strategies developed by BlackRock specifically for the platform. The products package baskets of tokenized assets into individual onchain tokens, with BlackRock designing the model strategies while Ondo Global Markets issues and operates the tokenized products.
The three initial products cover different risk and return profiles: high income, diversified growth, and high growth. Rather than requiring investors to assemble and rebalance individual tokenized assets separately, each portfolio wraps the strategy into a single onchain instrument.
BlackRock designed the allocation models but is not issuing the tokens or managing them on behalf of holders. Ondo Global Markets handles issuance and operation, an important distinction because the products are Ondo offerings built around BlackRock-designed allocation models, not BlackRock funds themselves.
Portfolio tokenization represents an evolution beyond the initial phase of real-world assets, which focused primarily on putting individual assets onto blockchains such as Treasury bills, money-market funds, or company shares. Portfolio tokens extend this by tokenizing the investment strategy itself.
This launch reflects a broader pattern in tokenized finance. Once individual securities exist onchain, the next logical products begin to resemble traditional asset management structures: diversified portfolios, managed allocations, collateralized lending, and structured exposure. Tokenized markets are beginning to rebuild layers that traditional finance developed over decades, now with blockchain settlement underneath.
Access to the products remains restricted to eligible investors outside the United States in permitted jurisdictions.
