Paybis, a crypto exchange and payment infrastructure provider, has launched four local payment methods for purchasing cryptocurrency across Europe. Customers in the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Austria can now buy crypto using iDEAL, BLIK, Multibanco and EPS respectively, marking the first phase of a broader expansion.
The new payment options allow customers to confirm transactions directly through their banking applications or by entering payment references at ATMs, eliminating the need to provide card details. More than 90 cryptocurrencies are available for purchase, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and USDC.
Payment Methods and Limits
Each method operates with specific payment limits tailored to its market:
- iDEAL (Netherlands): EUR 50,000 per payment
- BLIK (Poland): PLN 50,000 per payment
- Multibanco (Portugal): EUR 5,000 per payment
- EPS (Austria): EUR 10,000 per payment
These payment methods already serve as established payment options in their respective markets. According to the Dutch Payments Association, iDEAL processed more than 1.5 billion transactions in 2025 and handled 71% of online purchases in the Netherlands. BLIK had 21.6 million active users in Poland as of the end of June 2026, according to Polish Payment Standard. The Multibanco network operates approximately 13,000 machines across Portugal, while EPS is accepted by more than 11,000 online shops in Austria.
Expansion Plans
The four payment methods represent the first wave of 13 local payment methods Paybis plans to add. The company has announced upcoming support for Bancontact, KBC/CBC Bank and Belfius Pay in Belgium, as well as Bancomat Pay in Italy. Additional methods including Swish, Przelewy24, Vipps and MobilePay are scheduled for later phases. Once all local payment methods are implemented, Paybis will support more than 30 payment options.
Crypto purchased through these methods can be sent to a customer's Paybis Wallet or to any external wallet address of their choice.
