PEARL Token Launches on NEAR Intents to Broaden Cross-Chain Access for AI Miners

Pearl, the native token of the Pearl Layer-1 network, has launched on NEAR Intents, enabling token swaps across more than 35 different networks. The integration also provides access to NEAR Protocol's Click API, allowing wallets and applications to integrate PEARL token swaps.

Expanded access for miners

Through NEAR's infrastructure, miners can swap PEARL for assets within all of those 35+ networks, potentially easing access to stablecoins or other currencies as they pay for electricity and hardware. The integration gives PEARL access to an existing cross-chain market, eliminating the need for additional cross-chain bridges for each individual network.

NEAR Intents' ecosystem currently provides a cross-chain marketplace that includes approximately 38 networks and more than 200 assets, including major stablecoin markets. According to NEAR Intents, the platform has reported over $37 billion in cumulative volume and more than $144 million in daily volume traded.

Proof of Useful Work model

Pearl's Proof of Useful Work model links token issuance to AI computations that also secure the network. Miners receive both block rewards and inference fees based on the same workload they use to mine blocks. This creates a direct relationship between AI usage and token utility, but for PEARL to have sustained value, it will require consistent AI-related workloads that generate sufficient activity and fees to support miners.

Confidential transactions enable users to transfer funds anonymously. However, the fact that the entire network utilizes this function does not necessarily mean there will be greater demand for PEARL. Instead, demand will rely on how frequently miners and traders use these services to conduct swaps, develop deeper liquidity levels, and ensure reliable execution.

Market activity and demand outlook

At press time, PEARL was trading around $1.69, up 17% in the last 24 hours. Daily volume increased alongside the price rally, hovering near $12 million and up 36%. However, activity remains concentrated on a few centralized exchanges, suggesting NEAR access has yet to reshape its liquidity. This matters because GPU miners need reliable markets to convert rewards into operating funds.

Ultimately, stronger demand must come from real AI workloads and paid inference, not token issuance alone. PEARL's market activity will show whether easier cross-chain access translates into genuine demand.
