Polygon Labs has expanded its Open Money Stack by adding support for the TRON network, enabling businesses to integrate stablecoin payments and cross-border transfers through a single connection. The service is aimed at remittance firms, fintech companies, and payment providers.
According to Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, the integration allows businesses to offer digital-dollar services without needing to independently combine banking access, wallets, and orchestration tools. Customers can fund payments using bank transfers, debit cards, or cash, receive USDT in a TRON wallet, and subsequently cash out to bank accounts.
The system also enables businesses to transfer USDT between TRON and supported EVM networks without the need to separately connect to wallet providers, bridges, and fiat-ramp operators. However, Polygon noted that the integration does not alter licensing and regulatory obligations for payment firms, nor does it turn TRON into a bank.
TRON hosts more than $94 billion of Tether's dollar-backed token. In the second quarter, approximately 93% of TRON's $30 trillion stablecoin transfer volume was peer-to-peer, marking the highest share among networks tracked by CoinDesk.
Polygon initially unveiled the Open Money Stack in January following moves to acquire Coinme and Sequence. The company's fiat-ramp service utilizes compliance systems and money-transmitter licenses covering 48 U.S. states.
