PONS tokens were added to Binance Alpha on September 2, marking an expansion beyond their origins on Robinhood Chain. The listing provides broader market access to a token that has grown significantly since its launch, when the non-custodial token launchpad processed over $5 billion within two months.
Daily transaction volume on the platform increased from under $100 million in August to over $500 million by month's end, reflecting growing adoption of Robinhood Chain. This expanded activity has created a revenue stream designed to support token demand.
Buyback Mechanism and Scarcity
The PONS project allocates 80% of revenue toward token buybacks, creating approximately $640,000 to $800,000 in daily buying power. Nearly $2 million in buyback funds currently await deployment, with incoming revenue replenishment exceeding the purchase rate.
Nearly 30% of the PONS supply has reportedly been burned. Continued trading volume could strengthen token scarcity while buybacks remove circulating supply from the market.
Whale Concentration Risk
Early PONS holders maintain concentrated positions with substantial unrealized gains. One notable holder converted a $4,997 investment into a position valued at approximately $5.58 million, representing over 1,000x gains. This holder maintains around 10.9 million PONS tokens.
These early investors entered when the PONS market cap was approximately $470,000, creating an extremely low cost basis. The ability of large holders to distribute their positions may exceed the pace at which the buyback mechanism can absorb sales, leaving significant sell-side pressure potential.
