Privacy Blockchain Beldex Raises $8M to Build Encryption Tools for AI Agents

Privacy-focused blockchain infrastructure company Beldex has secured $8 million in a new funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $36 million. The company plans to use the funds to develop encryption tools tailored for artificial intelligence agents alongside its existing suite of privacy products.

The funding round was led by Sigma Capital, with participation from NTC, Nxgen, Digital Consensus Fund, and EAK Ventures. It follows two earlier rounds from DWF Labs and Block Alpha that brought in a combined $28 million in 2023.

Vineet Budki, managing director and CEO at Sigma Capital, stated that the firm was drawn to Beldex's long-term conviction and its established history in building infrastructure designed for the privacy demands of the next era of Web3.

Funding Deployment and Development Plans

Beldex intends to use the capital to build an infrastructure layer that enables developers to construct shielded smart contracts and encrypted identities for AI agents without compromising performance. The funds will also accelerate research into fully homomorphic encryption, a method that allows data to be processed while remaining encrypted.

Additionally, the resources will support the roadmap for quantum-resistant consensus mechanisms, an EVM-compatible sidechain for sensitive data, a browser extension wallet, and a set of software development kits to lower technical barriers for developers. Beldex also plans to build bridges connecting its network to Ethereum, Solana, and Base to maintain data privacy across different blockchains.

Alex Mok Kong Ming, Beldex's chief operating officer, noted that autonomous AI agents introduce fundamental risks regarding data exposure, which the company aims to address at the infrastructure level. Chairman Afanddy Bin Hushni added that the capital will allow Beldex to ensure data is encrypted by default before hitting the network.

Broader Market Context

Investor interest in privacy infrastructure coincides with recent market and security trends. According to a Grayscale report, privacy-oriented digital assets outperformed other crypto market sectors in the final quarter of 2025. Concurrently, security research from the Cloud Security Alliance and Token Security published in April indicated that 65% of organizations experienced a security incident linked to an AI agent in the past year, with sensitive data exposure identified as the most common cause.
