Pump Fun distributed approximately $700,000 in callout rewards to its top 50 earners, but analysis reveals the vast majority promoted tokens with minimal market value.
According to research by crypto analyst Dethective, 80% of the platform's top 50 callout reward earners shared tokens with an average market cap below $100,000. Only two callers had average median market cap rates exceeding $1 million, while eight averaged between $100,000 and $1 million.
The disparity was more pronounced at the lower end: 12 of the top earners averaged a market cap below $10,000, and one top 50 earner shared 2,417 callouts while maintaining an average market cap rate of just $3,600.
Reward Structure Favored Volume Over Quality
Pump Fun traders earn daily compensation based on the trading volume their publicly shared token recommendations generate from other users. The platform's reward system appeared to prioritize quantity over merit—one earner generated $6,800 from 2,417 callouts, while the highest earner, known as "Slingoor," earned $47,500 from 215 callouts with an average market cap rate of approximately $149,000.
Users criticized the platform for overweighting the number of callouts in its reward calculations. In response, Pump Fun's Chief Operating Officer Alon Cohen stated the firm has "significantly reduced the weighting of the number of callouts that a user produces within the callout rewards calculation."

Observers noted that most users receiving substantial rewards were already key opinion leaders previously onboarded by the platform.
