Pump.fun, the Solana meme coin launchpad, has expanded into perpetual futures trading through a partnership with Hyperliquid. The new interface became available on October 17, 2026, according to updated platform terms.
The move allows Pump.fun to generate revenue from derivatives trading without operating its own exchange. Hyperliquid handles order matching, collateral management, funding payments, and liquidations, while Pump.fun provides the user interface.
Fee Structure and Trading Details
Pump.fun charges up to 0.10% per futures order when traders open, increase, or close positions. An additional bridge fee of up to 0.25% applies to transfers. For example, a $10,000 trade would incur a $10 builder fee, while a $1,000 transfer could cost $2.50.
Earlier trading data indicated support for Bitcoin contracts with up to 40x leverage and Ethereum contracts with up to 25x leverage. Hyperliquid's own trading fees and other third-party costs apply separately to these charges.
User Protections and Restrictions
Users retain control of their wallets, and positions remain accessible through Hyperliquid even if Pump.fun access becomes unavailable. However, U.S. users, including those in American territories, and Ontario users are prohibited from accessing the perpetual futures feature. The platform also restricts access from sanctioned jurisdictions and prohibits using VPNs to circumvent these limitations.
Perpetual futures carry inherent risks. A small adverse price movement can eliminate collateral, with Hyperliquid automatically liquidating positions when margin requirements are breached, potentially resulting in total loss of the trader's position.
