Quack AI (Q) staged a sharp rally and rapid reversal while major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum showed little volatility over the past day, according to the source report.
A rapid rally and reversal
The lesser-known altcoin suddenly climbed from roughly $0.05 to a new all-time high of almost $0.24. Its market capitalization surged to nearly $1 billion, placing it among the top 100 cryptocurrencies at the time, before the token reversed course and traded near $0.06.
The source report said it remained unclear what sparked the move.
Traders profit as crowd shorts
Analytics platform Lookonchain reported that trader 0xF1fE made almost $1 million mainly by opening long positions on Q as the price rose. Some X users commenting on the post speculated that the trader might have had inside information, because no obvious signs suggested such a dramatic pump was imminent.
Crypto with Haris ₿ said he made more than $17,000 after catching what he called “the perfect top” to short Q. X user OxNox said the crowd turned short during the run, with 70% of accounts on Binance betting on a price decline as open interest soared from $10 million to $42 million.
OxNox also said 48 wallets holding 55% of Q on BNB Chain did not move through the price action, with zero transactions.
Analysts question the move
Quack AI is described as an AI-focused crypto project that aims to serve as a governance layer for AI agents and decentralized applications, allowing automated decision-making, DAO governance, and policy-based actions. X user Nura said Q is the native token, letting people delegate votes, run gasless payments through the Q402 system, and manage on-chain governance across multiple chains.
Nura described the price action as “pure leverage theater,” claiming that data showed heavy wash trading combined with concentrated accumulator wallets that opened recently and had not sold. The analyst also noted that the move followed weeks of gradual interest in AI agents and was not driven by major new announcements.
Nura characterized Q as a “high-wash-volume token” that will remain volatile and advised market participants to “size accordingly or just watch the fireworks.”
