RAM Token Surge Follows Robinhood Chain Deployment
RAM, a decentralized exchange token that has operated since 2023, experienced a substantial price movement in the week following Robinhood Chain's launch. The token rose from $0.01461 to an all-time high of $0.9307, representing a 6,262% increase. Ramses, the protocol behind the RAM token, had previously operated on Arbitrum and HyperEVM before launching natively on Robinhood Chain.
How Ramses Functions
The Ramses protocol converts RAM into xRAM through a mechanism that burns 50% of the tokens involved. xRAM holders gain governance rights and can vote on protocol decisions and fee structures.
On Robinhood Chain, Ramses operates under a fee-only model where 95% of swap fees flow to liquidity providers, 5% funds the protocol and a burn mechanism called Sarcophagus, and no RAM tokens are emitted on this chain.
Incomplete Value Accrual System
Analysts note that while the protocol's fee structure exists, the full value-accrual system on Robinhood Chain remains under development. Currently, 95% of fees go to liquidity providers rather than directly to RAM holders. Experts caution that investors buying RAM are effectively betting on the expectation that future volume and fees will eventually create value for token holders, with key assumptions about Robinhood Chain's growth and Ramses' market share already reflected in current pricing.
Market Context
Robinhood Chain launched with a focus on tokenized stocks, real-world assets, and decentralized finance, but early activity has been dominated by speculative trading. Ramses has deployed a concentrated liquidity model on the chain, allowing liquidity providers to position capital across specific price ranges.
