Real Trump Coins has denied launching, promoting, or authorizing the Trump Digital GOLD token that appeared across its online presence before collapsing, attributing the promotion to what it calls "third-party bad actors."
The denial followed a Saturday promotion of the Solana-based token through the Real Trump Coins X account, which directed users to RealTrumpCoins.com where GOLD was advertised. Both the X posts and the website promotion were subsequently removed or altered, with the account now linking to a separate domain, TrumpCoins.com.
"Trump Coins has not authorized and will not launch, promote, or authorize any digital token," Real Trump Coins stated in an X post on Saturday, noting that it was working with authorities to investigate the matter.
According to blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain, the GOLD token launch showed highly concentrated ownership, with the developer and newly created wallets controlling 82.45% of the supply. Fifteen wallets linked to the team reportedly sold their holdings for approximately $330,000, generating an estimated $312,000 profit.
The simultaneous involvement of both the Real Trump Coins X account and RealTrumpCoins.com raised questions among crypto observers about how both channels could have been compromised. At the time of reporting, RealTrumpCoins.com continued to display GOLD promotion material.
