Ripple and SettleMint have launched an integrated platform combining Ripple Custody with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform, or DALP. The solution targets banks, market infrastructure providers, and sovereign entities seeking unified infrastructure for custody, issuance, compliance, settlement, and servicing of tokenised assets. The companies began offering the platform across Asia Pacific on September 1.
The partnership addresses a common institutional challenge: coordinating multiple vendors across the full lifecycle of a digital asset. Both companies plan to expand into other regulated markets as institutional demand develops.
Platform Structure and Capabilities
Ripple Custody provides the security and governance layer, enabling institutions to hold and transfer cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and tokenised real-world assets. The service features configurable access controls, policy enforcement, and approval workflows. Ripple describes the infrastructure as self-custody installed within an institution's own technology environment, allowing the institution to retain private-key control. The service supports hardware security modules and multi-party computation for key management, with FIPS 140-2 Level 4, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 Type II credentials.
SettleMint's DALP handles product design, issuance, compliance, permissioning, settlement, and post-issuance servicing. It manages investor eligibility, ownership records, transfers, corporate actions, and redemptions throughout the asset lifecycle.
Market Context
The partnership reflects growing institutional interest in blockchain infrastructure for tokenised assets. Ripple has conducted custody tests with financial institutions in the region, including a pilot with Kyobo Life for tokenised Korean government bonds through Ripple Custody. Banks and asset managers across Asia Pacific have tested tokenised funds, programmable collateral, and stablecoin settlement. A separate arrangement involving DBS and Franklin Templeton paired a tokenised money market fund with Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin.
Ripple has expanded its institutional infrastructure through recent acquisitions and partnerships. In November 2025, the company acquired Palisade, a wallet and custody provider, and later added Securosys for key protection and Figment for institutional staking. A Chainalysis integration provides transaction monitoring and compliance tools.
SettleMint's DALP is currently deployed in pilots and production programs across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. The Ripple SettleMint partnership extends the platform with an integrated custody layer for regulated markets.
Launch Details and Limitations
The announcement does not identify customers, implementation schedules, pricing, transaction volumes, or contract values. The partnership does not require the XRP Ledger, XRP, or Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, and currently names no supported blockchain networks. Deployment will depend on each institution's network, legal structure, and existing systems. External integrations may still be necessary based on jurisdiction-specific requirements.
