Ripple has expanded Ripple Treasury, its corporate cash and liquidity platform, adding AI-powered automation, digital payment rails and new ways for eligible business clients to earn returns on idle cash, the company announced at Swell 2026.
The company said the capabilities are designed for global businesses, citing American Airlines, Trax, Subway, Adecco, Kingfisher and Christian Louboutin among the names the platform targets.
An orchestration layer for treasury workflows
At the center of the expanded platform is an orchestration layer that works alongside GSmart, Ripple Treasury's AI-focused technology. It is intended to automate and coordinate workflows across cash positioning, forecasting, reconciliation, liquidity management and payments.
The aim, according to the announcement, is to link financial decision-making directly with execution, reducing treasury teams' reliance on separate systems and manual processes.
24/7 Returns for eligible clients
The expansion also introduces 24/7 Returns, a feature that could allow eligible corporate customers to earn returns on qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet, including RLUSD, the company's US dollar-backed stablecoin.
Ripple said this would let businesses put operating cash to work overnight, on weekends and on holidays without having to manage the underlying digital asset transactions themselves.
Citing the 2026 AFP Liquidity Survey, Ripple said 46% of organizations increased their US cash reserves over the past year, and that 86% of treasury professionals would choose real-time money market funds if those products met their investment policies.
"Treasury is moving from visibility to action, and the emerging challenge is orchestration: connecting trusted data, intelligence and the ability to move money so that better decisions turn into timely execution," said Kevin Permenter, Research Director at IDC.
RLUSD's expanding footprint
RLUSD launched less than two years ago and has a market capitalization of more than $2.5 billion, according to the report. Ripple's stablecoin has become an increasingly central part of the company's structure in recent months.
- Cross River Bank said last week that it would integrate RLUSD into its banking infrastructure, allowing eligible businesses to move between dollars and the stablecoin, process cross-border payments and manage treasury transfers through a single API connection.
- Standard Chartered recently launched institutional custody support for RLUSD on the XRP Ledger.
- Ripple and Securitize introduced infrastructure allowing holders of BlackRock's BUILD and VanEck's CBILL tokenized funds to exchange their shares for RLUSD around the clock.
