Ripple Treasury is targeting idle corporate cash with a new returns program on Ripple USD (RLUSD), its dollar-backed stablecoin. The 24/7 Returns offering, unveiled at Swell on October 26, allows eligible businesses to earn returns on operating cash held outside traditional banking hours, weekends, and holidays.
The program covers qualifying digital assets held in a Ripple wallet, with participants required to meet eligibility rules. Businesses do not need to manage the underlying digital asset transactions themselves. RLUSD is designed to maintain a value of $1 per token and supports blockchain payments and settlement.
How the Program Works
Ripple Treasury uses artificial intelligence tools called GSmart to coordinate financial tasks. These functions include determining available cash, forecasting future balances, matching financial records, managing liquidity, and processing payments. The integration aims to reduce manual work while connecting financial decisions with execution.
Renaat Ver Eecke, senior vice president of Ripple Treasury, stated: "Our vision is to bring treasury management, intelligence, and execution together, giving finance teams the ability to act faster and operate continuously without adding complexity or sacrificing control."
Corporate Adoption and Market Context
Businesses including American Airlines, Trax, Christian Louboutin, Subway, Adecco, and Kingfisher are named among those using Ripple's treasury strategy. According to the Association for Financial Professionals' Liquidity Survey, 46% of organizations reported holding more U.S. cash than a year earlier as of March, while 86% of treasury professionals said they would choose real-time money market funds if they met their investment policies.
Institutional Infrastructure
Ripple's treasury expansion follows its October 2025 acquisition announcement of GTreasury, a software platform for managing corporate cash and financial operations. Institutional support grew when Standard Chartered began offering RLUSD custody on October 12 for tokens issued on the XRP Ledger through its Dubai International Financial Centre branch. Standard Chartered also joined Ripple and LMAX Group in an arrangement to make RLUSD eligible collateral for agreed LMAX products while held in custody.
