Robinhood Chain Reaches $3B Daily DEX Volume, Triggers Record $1.15M UNI Burn

Robinhood Chain processed over $3 billion in decentralized exchange volume for the first time, leading Uniswap to burn 184,000 UNI tokens worth $1.15 million. The milestone highlighted the chain's rapid growth and its dependence on Ethereum's data infrastructure.

Robinhood Chain Reaches $3B Daily DEX Volume, Triggers Record $1.15M UNI Burn

Robinhood Chain achieved a milestone on Thursday by clearing $3 billion in daily decentralized exchange volume for the first time. The surge triggered a record burn of 184,000 UNI tokens valued at approximately $1.15 million through Uniswap's fee-burning mechanism.

Of the tokens burned, roughly 150,000 UNI—more than 80%—came from trading activity on Robinhood Chain. This represents the first time Uniswap's daily burn exceeded $1 million in dollar terms and marks the second-largest burn by token count since the mechanism launched.

How the Burn Mechanism Works

Uniswap token holders approved the "Unification" proposal on Christmas Day 2025, redirecting a portion of protocol fees previously paid entirely to liquidity providers toward buying and burning UNI tokens. The upgrade also destroyed 100 million UNI upfront. Daily burn size tracks directly with trading volume flowing through Uniswap's pools.

Rapid Growth on Robinhood Chain

Robinhood Chain's daily DEX volume more than tripled in under a week. Six days prior to Thursday, the record had stood at $875 million. Uniswap handled approximately 98% of Thursday's $3 billion volume.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer two network built on Arbitrum's Nitro stack, launched on July 1. In its first 64 days of operation, the chain accumulated $34.6 billion in total DEX volume across 576 million transactions and 12.3 million addresses. Uniswap captured roughly 86% of the chain's spot volume over the trailing 30 days.

Beyond tokenized stocks, trading activity included significant memecoin volume and launchpad activity on the platform.

Infrastructure Stress Test

Thursday's record day revealed infrastructure constraints. Between 12:29 and 12:48 UTC, Robinhood Chain's blob submissions to Ethereum—data packets required for transaction verification—stalled for approximately 14 minutes total, occurring twice during the window.

Arbitrum attributed the delays to congested blob market conditions on Ethereum's base layer rather than an outage of Robinhood Chain itself. Direct user transactions experienced no delays. Some infrastructure providers dependent on the chain's data feeds reported brief performance issues from high subscriber volumes.

During the first gap, 263 blob slots remained unused while the base fee was approximately one-seventh of Robinhood Chain's standing bid. Robinhood Chain emerged as Ethereum's single largest blob poster, accounting for 28% of all blobs during the congestion period and 45% in the window immediately before.

Market Impact

UNI traded at $6.27 with a $3.9 billion market cap on the day following the record burn, down approximately 1%. A sustained $1.15 million daily burn would annualize to roughly $420 million, representing approximately 11% of supply, though burn amounts have returned to normal levels on quieter trading days throughout the summer.

Robinhood Chain's milestone underscores Uniswap's growing revenue dependence on a chain that launched less than 10 weeks prior, while exposing the protocol's vulnerability to Ethereum's blob market capacity during volume spikes.
