Robinhood Chain records $3.75 million in fees as Arbitrum-powered network gains traction

Robinhood Chain users paid a record $3.75 million in transaction fees on September 1, the two-month-old network's highest daily total since launching on July 1. The figure pushed Robinhood Chain ahead of both Ethereum mainnet and Base for the day.

Decentralized exchange volume on the network surpassed $1.5 billion on the same day, also a record. Total value locked reached just over $750 million.

As a chain built on Arbitrum's technology, Robinhood Chain participates in the Arbitrum Expansion Program, which requires chains settling outside Arbitrum One or Arbitrum Nova to return 10% of net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem. This revenue share arrangement ties Robinhood's financial performance directly to Arbitrum's balance sheet.

Robinhood Chain's licensing fees contributed $360,000 to Arbitrum DAO income in July, its first full month of operation, accounting for 35% of the DAO's total monthly income. The Expansion Program functions as a franchise model, with teams launching their own chains on Arbitrum infrastructure, paying licensing fees, and gaining access to established security and interoperability in return.

Robinhood Chain launched its mainnet on July 1 and quickly gained developer momentum. The network's Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility and day-one partnerships with Alchemy, BitGo, Chainlink, and Uniswap provided developers a familiar environment to build on. The chain ranked number one in Electric Capital's developer activity rankings less than two weeks after launch.

Arbitrum DAO reported income of $6.19 million in the first half of 2026 from four sources: Arbitrum One transaction fees, Timeboost priority-access auctions, Expansion Program licensing, and treasury returns. Gross margins on protocol revenue exceeded 97%, up from more than 90% in 2025. At the end of June, the DAO's treasury held $125 million in non-ARB assets.
