Robinhood Chain Records $874.8 Million in Daily DEX Volume, 5.5 Million Transactions

Robinhood Chain recorded $874.8 million in decentralized exchange volume and 5,521,213 daily transactions, marking the network's busiest day since mainnet went live on July 1. According to DefiLlama, the chain surpassed Ethereum and Hyperliquid in 24-hour app revenue, ranking behind only Solana.

The chain experienced significant volatility over two months. Following launch-week activity, DEX volume declined to approximately $140 million daily in early August before recovering over the subsequent three weeks to exceed the previous July 11 high.

Single Launchpad Drives Half of Volume

Pons.family, a permissionless token launchpad on Robinhood Chain, generated $445.98 million in token volume on the record day—approximately 51% of the chain's total trading volume. This represented a 2.6x increase from the platform's mid-July peak and more than 20 times its mid-August levels.

The launchpad has grown in prominence since Noxa halted new token launches on July 11. Pons routes 80% of protocol fees into an automated buyback mechanism that sends PONS tokens to a burn address. According to protocol documentation and team statements from August 29, 29% of the original 1 billion PONS supply had been retired.

New Competitor and Market Catalysts

Uniswap Labs launched Pools.trade on August 5, a competing launchpad for Robinhood Chain offering zero platform fees and permanently locked v4 liquidity. While Pools.trade exceeded Pons in token volume and daily token creation during its first 24 hours, the momentum did not sustain.

Arcus, a dYdX-built DEX backed by Robinhood Crypto, launched pTokens on August 25—ERC-20 wrapped leveraged perpetual accounts including pBTC3x and pHOOD3x. The same day, Arcus began accepting SPY, QQQ, and MAG7 stock tokens as collateral at 50% loan-to-value ratio.

The record volume coincided with broader cryptocurrency market movements. Bitcoin rallied following a White House crypto meeting and a US Treasury decision to increase long-dated bond buybacks. Bitcoin reached near $81,500, while Ether gained nearly 29% on the week.

Sustainability Questions Remain

The record reflects concentration of activity in a single launchpad competing against a lower-fee alternative on the same network. Market analysts note that the July 11 high resulted from launch-week novelty, while this record emerged during speculative trading conditions. The chain's ability to maintain transaction volume and DEX activity independent of launchpad trading remains unresolved.
