Samsung is partnering with Solana to enable cross-border money transfers using USDC stablecoins through Samsung Wallet and Samsung Pay, beginning in the last week of October 2026.
The feature will launch across 82 million US Galaxy devices, with additional markets expected to follow subject to local regulatory requirements. Users will be able to send remittances without managing separate cryptocurrency tools, as Solana operates behind the scenes. Samsung Wallet will include integrated fiat on- and off-ramps, allowing users to convert between local currency and stablecoins within the app.
Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics' Mobile eXperience business, said: "Samsung Wallet is about making useful experiences feel simple and intuitive. Stablecoins have the potential to make moving money around the world faster and easier, and we want Galaxy users to be able to take advantage of that without having to navigate the complexity of traditional crypto tools. Solana helps us bring that experience to Samsung's scale."
The partnership reflects growing stablecoin activity on Solana. Stablecoin supply on the network has increased nearly 20 percent year over year, and the network processed more than $5.25 trillion in stablecoin volume during 2026 alone. Other major companies using Solana for stablecoin activity include PayPal and Western Union.
Separately, the Solana Foundation joined the x402 Foundation in April as a founding member. In May, the Swiss non-profit organization and Google Cloud launched Pay.sh, a platform enabling AI agents to pay for API services using Solana-based stablecoins without requiring accounts, API keys, or subscriptions.
