Securitize has launched tokenized versions of 12 major U.S. stocks on the Solana blockchain, including Apple, Nvidia, Tesla, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Netflix, Circle, Strategy, and Palantir.
The new product, called Securitize Stocks, will first trade on Securitize's PropAMM platform on Solana, with Jump Trading providing liquidity and transactions settling in USDC stablecoin. RQD will handle clearing, custody, and settlement infrastructure connecting the tokens to traditional securities markets.
Each token is backed one-for-one by an actual underlying share and structured to preserve shareholder rights including dividends and voting rights. The tokens represent security entitlements rather than direct ownership on company shareholder registers, though conversion may become available if issuers adopt tokenization.
Securitize said the tokens are designed for eligible investors in the U.S., Europe, and other permitted markets. Trading will initially occur during extended market hours, with plans to expand to 24/7 access.
Expansion plans
The tokenized stocks are expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange's planned 24/7 digital trading platform and the OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue, a joint venture between NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange and crypto exchange OKX. Both expansions remain subject to the venues launching and meeting regulatory requirements.
Regulatory context
The launch comes as the Securities and Exchange Commission has rolled out an innovation exemption to open a path for new tokenized securities trading venues built on blockchain infrastructure. The OKX-ICE joint venture filed this week to introduce tokenized stock trading under the SEC's framework.
