Shiba Inu (SHIB) expanded its holder base by 150,017 on-chain addresses in 2026, bringing the total to 1,698,647 as of October 19, according to reported data. That marks a notable increase from the 1,548,630 holders recorded at the start of the year.
The token also drew attention after T. Rowe Price’s proposed multi-asset cryptocurrency ETF identified SHIB among the crypto assets eligible for potential exposure. The filing, however, did not confirm actual SHIB holdings or establish a dedicated spot ETF. Still, the development highlighted SHIB’s growing reach across retail and potential institutional markets.
Burning activity continues
Alongside the adoption trend, SHIB continued reducing its circulating supply through token burns. According to Shibburn, the network burned 111,395 SHIB across two transactions in a 24-hour period. The seven-day total reached 81,765,038 SHIB, indicating sustained burning activity over a longer stretch. Cumulative burns now total approximately 410.85 trillion SHIB, a significant portion of the token’s original supply.
Rising reserves point to selling pressure
Despite the improving adoption metrics, exchange reserves for SHIB surged as spot trading activity continued to favor sellers. CryptoQuant data showed the memecoin’s Exchange Reserve USD climbing 3.11% in 24 hours to $449.6 million. The increase implied potentially greater selling availability, though USD-denominated reserves also reflect valuation changes. The Spot Taker CVD remained seller-dominant, suggesting more aggressive selling than buying.
Taken together, these indicators point to persistent selling pressure even as holder numbers grow, placing greater significance on the token’s ability to defend its immediate technical support.
Can SHIB hold $0.0000050?
At the time of reporting, SHIB traded around $0.00000511 after failing to sustain a weekly recovery toward the $0.0000060 resistance region. The rejection pushed the price back toward the $0.0000050 support, a level buyers had previously defended.
The CMF indicator improved toward neutrality, reaching -0.01 as capital outflow pressure eased. On the contrary, the Stochastic RSI showed weakening bullish strength, with a bearish crossover emerging after recent overbought conditions, raising concerns about another potential decline.
SHIB would need to maintain the $0.0000050 support before another recovery toward $0.0000060 becomes possible. Losing this key support would expose the $0.00000413 level, particularly if spot sellers remain in control.
