Smaller altcoins are outperforming as Bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies trade within a narrow range. Bitway's BTW token, the native asset of a bitcoin-compatible layer-1 blockchain, has jumped 25% in the past 24 hours and gained 170% over the past 30 days.
Bitcoin is trading near $85,900 after reaching lows near $85,000 earlier in the day. According to market analysis, a break below $84,000 could signal weakness, with potential for a decline toward $80,000 if support at $83,000 fails.
Altcoin Movement
Beyond BTW, other smaller tokens are gaining traction. Filecoin's FIL and LayerZero's ZRO have each advanced 12% and 10% respectively over 24 hours, with both up 50% or more over the past four weeks. Midnight's NIGHT token added 8% in the same period. Privacy tokens also bucked broader weakness, with Monero advancing 1.9% and Zcash gaining 2.5%.
Near Protocol jumped 4.5% over 24 hours to trade at $5.25, while some tokens retreated. Rain Protocol led decliners with a 5.6% drop. Large-cap DeFi tokens showed modest declines, with Uniswap slipping 1.4% to $8.89 and Chainlink easing 1.2% to $14.
Derivatives and Market Structure
Bitcoin derivatives positioning has stabilized. Open interest held near $21.9 billion, while funding rates cooled to a 0–5% annualized range across venues, down from the elevated 4–10% range seen earlier. The 24-hour liquidations reached $163 million, split 63% toward long liquidations and 27% toward shorts. BTC accounted for $51 million of the total, with Ethereum at $19 million.
Options markets remain call-skewed, with a 62–38 put-to-call volume ratio favoring calls. The 1-week 25-delta skew is negative at approximately -2%.
