Anchorpoint announced on October 30 a partnership with Solana to bring its Hong Kong dollar stablecoin HKDAP onto the blockchain. The collaboration will enable native issuance and redemption of HKDAP directly through Solana, supporting retail payments and tokenized asset transactions.
Integration Details
Through the partnership, the companies plan to enable near-instant settlement for payments and transactions of tokenized financial assets. Anchorpoint plans to leverage Solana's wallet technology to facilitate seamless integration with corporate partners and consumer applications. No launch date has been announced for the integration.
HKDAP currently operates on Ethereum through a limited beta program for institutional and professional users. Once Anchorpoint completes its final preparations, it plans to extend access to retail customers.
Tokenized Assets on Solana
The Solana Foundation estimates approximately USD 4.9 billion in tokenized assets currently exist on its network, with over 835,000 people holding real-world assets that have been tokenized. Earlier this month, Securitize introduced tokenized stock trading on Solana, expanding access to blockchain-based securities.
About HKDAP
Anchorpoint received its stablecoin issuer license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in April 2026. The company was established as a joint venture by Standard Chartered, HKT, and Animoca Brands.
Each HKDAP maintains a one-to-one value against the Hong Kong dollar, with circulating tokens backed by the issuer through assets kept separate from the issuer's operating assets. Anchorpoint currently distributes HKDAP through authorized partners including HashKey, OSL, and Standard Chartered Hong Kong.
Broader Hong Kong Stablecoin Landscape
HSBC launched its RedCoin stablecoin through PayMe on October 23, targeting the payment application's 3.3 million users. Unlike HSBC's private blockchain approach, Anchorpoint intends to expand HKDAP across public blockchain networks.
Strategic Partnership Expansion
The Solana Foundation will join Anchorpoint's Tokenised Money Adoption Programme as a strategic partner, alongside PwC Hong Kong. The program is devoted to research, education, and industry collaboration. The foundation plans to establish a local presence in Hong Kong following its participation in the program.
