Solana Stablecoin Holders Surge to 14M, but SOL Price Remains Under Pressure

Solana's stablecoin ecosystem has expanded significantly, with holder addresses growing from less than 4 million in October 2024 to 14 million by October 2026. The total stablecoin supply on the network has climbed above $15 billion, providing increased liquidity across payments, trading, and decentralized finance activity.

This growth in holder accounts has accelerated notably in 2025 and 2026, suggesting broader adoption of dollar-pegged assets on the Solana network. However, an increase in holder addresses does not necessarily translate to higher transaction counts or more active users.

Mixed Capital Flows Signal Investor Uncertainty

Stablecoin inflows and outflows on Solana have remained volatile. Beginning in June 2025, the network experienced multiple surges in both deposits and withdrawals. Peak inflow levels reached approximately $2.8 billion, while subsequent withdrawals in April totaled around $2.3 billion. Recent net flows have approached neutral territory, with the latest reading at -$8.2 million, indicating investors have not established a sustained capital stream into exchanges.

Trading Activity Lags Despite Available Liquidity

Despite the substantial stablecoin supply, SOL has traded around $101–$102 after losing nearly 13% over the past 30 days. Weekly decentralized exchange volume has declined approximately 9%. The network's DeFi total value locked currently sits at $5.77 billion, while daily network fees remain around $477,000. These metrics indicate a disconnect between available capital and actual economic activity on the network.

Unless trading volumes, DeFi engagement, and fee generation trends improve, the expanded stablecoin base may face difficulty supporting a sustained price recovery for SOL.
