Solayer Pay Expands Stablecoin Deposits Across Five Blockchain Networks

Solayer Pay has expanded its card application to accept stablecoin deposits directly from five blockchain networks: Solana, Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, and Base. The update allows users to fund their cards with supported dollar-pegged tokens such as USDC and USDT without requiring additional bridging or exchange steps.

The expansion addresses a persistent friction point in cryptocurrency payments. Stablecoin versions issued on different blockchains operate independently at the technical level, forcing users to bridge or exchange funds when their tokens reside on a different network than their payment app supports. This process introduces extra steps, network fees, and the risk of using incorrect addresses.

Solayer Pay's new deposit flow lets users select the blockchain where their supported tokens already exist and credit a unified Solayer Pay balance. Once deposited, the balance can be spent using virtual or physical cards where available, as well as compatible mobile wallets and peer-to-peer payments.

The company reports that more than 45,000 cardholders currently use the product. Solayer Pay was introduced as the Emerald Card in April 2025, with a physical card option added subsequently.

Trade-offs Between Convenience and Custody

The simplified deposit process comes with important considerations. When funds are deposited into an app balance, users must understand which provider holds the assets, how withdrawals function, and what restrictions may apply if an account is limited or a supported chain experiences congestion.

Geographic eligibility and identity-verification requirements also affect access. While Visa's global acceptance network is extensive, not all individuals worldwide can obtain the card or deposit every stablecoin.

The feature addresses a genuine gap in current crypto payments infrastructure by reducing the blockchain-routing complexity users must navigate for everyday purchases. Whether stablecoin deposits translate into sustained card usage remains a separate measure of adoption beyond the number of available networks.
