Stablecoins make up more than 80% of the nearly $1 billion in daily volume flowing through WalletConnect, a connectivity network that links crypto wallets to applications across blockchains.
H1 2026 Volume Breakdown
WalletConnect's first-half 2026 figures show total network volume reached $207.82 billion, with $171.35 billion attributed to stablecoin activity. This represents 82.5% of all transactions moving across the network.
Stablecoin share fluctuated during the period, starting at 74% in January and climbing steadily to peak at 88% in May. The network logged approximately 19.08 million on-chain transactions over the six-month span.
Ethereum Dominance in Stablecoin Settlement
Ethereum carried approximately $159.8 billion in stablecoin volume, or 93% of the stablecoin total. Arbitrum, Solana, and BNB Chain followed at considerably lower levels.
Assets moving across the network included USDC, USDT, and USDG, along with ETH and WETH across multiple chains.
Broader Adoption Trends
WalletConnect recorded approximately $100 billion in network volume during the third quarter of 2026. For comparison, the network's full-year 2025 volume exceeded $400 billion, with daily averages around $1.25 billion.
The network supports more than 900 million users through over 700 wallets and more than 80,000 applications. Recent additions include support for TRON and Stellar, two chains with established track records for stablecoin transactions.
Payment Infrastructure Development
WalletConnect has been developing merchant tools alongside Ingenico and Ezeebit, positioning itself as payment infrastructure beyond traditional crypto trading. CEO Jess Houlgrave noted a marked increase in adoption from both institutional and retail users.
