Stand With Crypto is making a final push ahead of the November 3 midterms with 3.1 million advocates, 50 state chapters, 47 college chapters and 45 endorsed candidates, Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said in an interview with Grace Remington and Sean Hagan.
Lynaugh framed crypto voters as a low-propensity swing bloc that campaigns spend millions of dollars to find. He said tight races can be decided by hundreds of votes and tens of thousands of advocates.
Bipartisan votes and growing ratings
Lynaugh cited the Clarity Act and GENIUS Act votes as evidence that crypto policy is bipartisan, with the discussion noting 100 Democrats on the Clarity Act and the GENIUS Act vote.
He said the number of A-rated lawmakers has risen from 90 to 338 in three years. He expects the next Congress to be the most pro-Bitcoin in history, regardless of who wins.
Voter hub and organizing
Stand With Crypto is directing voters to a hub where they can check registration, find their state's deadline and see where candidates stand on crypto.
The conversation also covered why some Democrats still oppose crypto, how skeptics come around, and organizing against anti-Bitcoin lawmakers. Lynaugh contrasted Fair Shake's $95 million with volunteer phone calls, and discussed the GENIUS Act rollout, disappointment over the Clarity Act and why AI advocates are allies.
