Stellar's Tokenized RWA Market Grows to Nearly $4 Billion in 2026

The tokenized real-world assets (RWA) market on Stellar has grown substantially in 2026, reaching approximately $4 billion as of late August, according to data from a Dune Analytics dashboard maintained by Stellar. This represents a roughly 360% increase from $868.8 million at the end of 2025.

The RWA market cap of $3.996 billion spans multiple asset classes, including US Treasurys, private and public credit, non-US government debt, and other tokenized instruments. The market remains concentrated among a handful of issuers, with Spiko leading at $1.55 billion, followed by Realiz at $559 million, Tradable at $548 million, Franklin Templeton at $546 million, and Ondo at $535 million.

Institutional Adoption Accelerates Growth

The expansion reflects deepening institutional engagement with Stellar's network. In May, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to connect its tokenization service to Stellar, with tokenized assets expected to become available on the network in the first half of 2027. The integration could eventually support tokenized US Treasurys, major index ETFs, and stocks in the Russell 1000.

In July, tokenization platform Tradable announced plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets to Stellar. The company has already tokenized $1.7 billion in private credit across nearly 30 positions on other networks.

Stablecoins and Payments Expansion

Stellar has also strengthened its position in digital payments. MoneyGram launched its MGUSD dollar stablecoin on the network in June, enabling users to hold dollar-denominated balances and move funds through its global payments infrastructure. Stablecoins on Stellar currently total approximately $438 million in reserve-verified value.

Stellar has gained particular prominence in non-US government debt, holding approximately $490 million in the asset class as of mid-August, including tokenized Mexican CETES and Brazilian government bonds.

Despite the RWA market growth, Stellar's native XLM token has declined about 11% year to date, trading near $0.18 as of the article's publication date.
