A potential Strategy Bitcoin buy remains unconfirmed after Michael Saylor shared the company's familiar accumulation chart on X Sunday with the caption “Connecting the dots.” The post did not disclose a purchase amount or an updated holdings total, leaving investors to await an official filing.
Bitcoin traded near $75,900 as it struggled to regain $76,000, slightly above Strategy's overall average cost of $75,451 per coin. The message followed the company's latest disclosed BTC purchase and a separate repurchase of STRC shares.
Strategy Bitcoin Buy Signal Follows Familiar Saylor Pattern
Saylor has repeatedly posted the chart before weekly disclosures, and the latest message does not confirm that Strategy bought Bitcoin during the past week. A purchase report would normally identify the coin amount, average price, funding source, and reporting period.
Strategy typically releases its treasury activity through a Form 8-K, which provides a formal record of purchases and financing decisions and separates confirmed transactions from signals shared on social media.
The company's last confirmed acquisition covered October 26 through November 1. Strategy bought 811 BTC for $65.5 million, paying an average of $80,846 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. The purchase lifted its reported holdings to 849,327 BTC, with an aggregate purchase price of $64.08 billion for the entire position.
For now, a fresh acquisition remains an expectation, not a confirmed event. Sunday's post did not state whether any coins changed hands or whether the company raised new capital. That distinction matters while the Bitcoin price remains below the latest purchase price.
Funding Behind the Last Strategy Bitcoin Buy and STRC Deal
The November 2 filing showed how Strategy financed its latest confirmed purchase. The company sold 1,178,552 MSTR common shares through its at-the-market program, generating $164 million in net proceeds after commissions. Strategy allocated $65.5 million to Bitcoin and added $98.5 million to its USD Cash balance.
Strategy did not sell preferred shares during that reporting period. Instead, it used existing USD Cash to repurchase 2,092,035 STRC shares. The repurchases totaled $208.2 million. STRC closed Friday at $99.84, just below its $100 stated amount.
The last Strategy Bitcoin buy arrived at a higher level than the current Bitcoin price. BTC traded near $75,900 on Sunday, while the company paid $80,846 per coin in its most recent purchase. However, the spot price remained roughly $449 above Strategy's blended acquisition cost.
Strategy held about $4.79 billion in its designated dollar reserve on November 1. It also reported $132.7 million in separate cash holdings. Those balances, along with future common-stock sales, could shape its purchasing capacity. Any new Strategy Bitcoin buy would also show whether management changed its financing mix after the STRC repurchase.
The company's future disclosure may reveal another BTC addition, no purchase, or a different capital move. Saylor's post did not resolve those possibilities. It only placed the next reporting window under scrutiny as Bitcoin traded near Strategy's average cost.
