Strategy repurchased 1,420,467 shares of its STRC preferred stock for $139.3 million between September 8 and 13, according to an SEC filing. The entire purchase was funded from the company's USD Cash reserve.
The buyback represents a decrease from the previous week's $176.3 million in STRC repurchases, which followed the board's decision to double the authorization for its digital credit securities repurchase program to $2 billion.
Strategy made no Bitcoin purchases or sales during the period, keeping its total holdings steady at 845,050 BTC acquired for $63.73 billion at an average price of $75,412 per coin, inclusive of fees. This marks the second consecutive week without changes to the company's Bitcoin stack.
The company did not repurchase any STRF, STRK, or STRD preferred shares, nor did it buy back any MSTR common stock during the week.
Remaining authorizations: Approximately $1.05 billion remains available under the $2 billion digital credit securities repurchase program, while a separate $1 billion authorization for MSTR stock buybacks remains unused.
Cash position: Strategy's USD Reserve stood at $5.10 billion as of September 13, while USD Cash totaled $1.30 billion, down from $1.44 billion the previous week.
Strategy's STRC preferred stock carries a Bitcoin Credit spread of approximately 57 basis points, according to the company's credit dashboard. The company considers spreads below 150 basis points to be investment-grade.
The buyback activity comes as Strategy awaits results of an MSCI proposal that could affect its inclusion in global equity benchmarks. Feedback on the consultation closes September 30, with a decision expected October 16.
