Strategy has conditionally declared daily dividends for its STRC preferred stock for November 2026, marking a new proposed cadence aimed at making the security more attractive to investors. The adjustment is part of the company's ongoing financing instruments supporting its Bitcoin treasury business.
According to an October 16 filing, the company outlined conditional daily dividend record dates for November, announcing a rate equivalent to approximately 12% annually, or $1 per preferred share for the month. The implementation of this plan depends on amendments that shareholders are scheduled to consider at a meeting on October 28.
Financing the Bitcoin Treasury
STRC, also known as Stretch, is a variable-rate preferred security created to help finance Strategy's Bitcoin purchases. Its appeal to investors centers on recurring income and the company's efforts to maintain the share price near its $100 reference level. While more frequent distributions reduce the time between earning and receiving a dividend, they do not automatically increase the total amount paid or guarantee daily compounding. Strategy has previously utilized STRC-related financing to expand its Bitcoin holdings.
Managing Ongoing Costs
Preferred financing enables the company to raise capital without immediately issuing additional common shares, but it simultaneously creates ongoing dividend obligations that require careful management. These costs take on added significance during extended periods of weakness in the Bitcoin market.
If shareholders approve the proposed changes and other conditions are met, the new STRC dividend schedule is slated to begin in November. Should the measures fail to pass, existing arrangements will remain in effect.
