Strategy has resumed Bitcoin purchases after a three-week pause, buying 950 Bitcoin for about $75.7 million on September 21, according to an SEC filing. The acquisition marks the company's first purchase since late August.
Michael Saylor's firm now holds a total of 846,000 Bitcoin, accumulated over several years for a combined $63.8 billion. Between September 14 and 20, Strategy did not sell shares through its at-the-market stock program, instead concentrating on Bitcoin holdings.
The purchase signals renewed accumulation activity. The day before the purchase, Saylor posted a chart on social media detailing the company's Bitcoin buying history, captioning it "a little more orange."
Balance Sheet Reversal
Strategy's financial position has shifted significantly in recent weeks. The company moved from $10 billion in unrealized losses to $8 billion in unrealized gains as Bitcoin traded above $80,000, representing an approximate $18 billion swing.
During the same period covered by the SEC filing, Strategy repurchased $174 million in preferred stock.
ETF Flows Shift to Fidelity
Fidelity's Bitcoin ETF (FBTC) overtook BlackRock's IBIT in daily inflows during the week, reversing a trend from two weeks earlier when IBIT had led by close to six times. On September 18, FBTC received $306 million in inflows, nearly three times IBIT's inflows that day.
Bitcoin climbed toward $81,000 on September 18 as investors shifted capital toward Fidelity's fund.
