Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy has increased its holdings to exactly 848,000 BTC after purchasing an additional 334 bitcoins between Oct. 1 and Oct. 4. The company acquired the latest batch for $28.7 million, paying an average price of $85,838.80 per coin.
With this purchase, Strategy's total bitcoin cost basis reached approximately $63.97 billion, with an overall average acquisition price of $75,440.70 per coin. The recent acquisition was financed using $15.7 million in net proceeds from the sale of 92,894 MSTR shares and $13 million from the firm's U.S. dollar cash reserves.
Alongside the bitcoin acquisition, Strategy repurchased 740,634 shares of STRC for $73.7 million during the same four-day period, following earlier repurchases totaling $102.6 million between Sept. 28 and Sept. 30.
Executive Chairman Michael Saylor reported that the company posted a digital asset gain of $21 billion in the third quarter of 2026. Regulatory filings placed the precise estimated third-quarter digital asset gain at $20.91 billion and the digital asset carrying value at $70.82 billion as of Sept. 30. As of Oct. 4, the firm held 848,000 BTC and $5.7 billion in USD assets.
