Bitcoin treasury company Strive has attracted analyst attention after rapid acquisitions expanded its holdings to 35,595 BTC. TD Cowen analysts raised their share-price target on Strive from $44 to $56 in an October 16 research update, citing the pace of the company's Bitcoin purchases.
The company accumulated thousands of BTC in recent weeks, positioning it among larger corporate Bitcoin holders, though behind Strategy. Strive announced pricing for a preferred stock offering of seven million shares at $90 each, which would generate approximately $630 million in gross proceeds before expenses, assuming completion on announced terms.
Financing Strategy
Preferred stock offerings allow companies to raise capital without immediate dilution to common shareholders, though preferred dividends create ongoing costs. Strive has repeatedly expanded its Bitcoin holdings through successive purchase announcements, including a prior acquisition that lifted its treasury above 26,000 BTC.
Shareholder Considerations
Rising total Bitcoin holdings do not automatically benefit existing shareholders if the company simultaneously expands its share count or takes on expensive financing obligations. Investors must assess Bitcoin holdings alongside the capital structure supporting them.
TD Cowen's higher target reflects analyst optimism about Strive's execution but remains an opinion rather than a guaranteed future price. The company's upcoming financing and treasury disclosures will indicate whether it can continue increasing Bitcoin exposure on economically sound terms for shareholders.
