Strive Inc. (ticker: ASST) held 23,156 BTC as of August 28, positioning it among the top five publicly traded Bitcoin holders globally. CEO Matt Cole has indicated the company could push past 27,000 BTC before year-end.
Rapid Accumulation
The company held approximately 5,000 BTC in fall 2025 before crossing 20,000 by June 2026. In the final week of August alone, Strive acquired 1,800 BTC for roughly $143 million.
Strive was formed through a reverse merger with Asset Entities and the acquisition of Semler Scientific, combining a public listing with a mandate to accumulate Bitcoin.
Financing Strategy
Rather than taking on debt or diluting common shareholders, Strive finances its Bitcoin purchases through Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock, trading under ticker SATA. By June 2026, the company had expanded SATA's capacity by $4.2 billion, allowing it to maintain a balance sheet with zero debt while covering preferred stock dividends.
Market Outlook and Risk
TD Cowen raised its year-end Bitcoin forecast for Strive to 27,156 coins, reflecting confidence in the company's treasury trajectory. Analysts have also adjusted stock price targets upward.
The company faces material risks if Bitcoin's price declines substantially, as Strive would hold a depreciating asset while still owing preferred dividends. With 23,156 BTC already on its books and an implied target of acquiring 4,000 or more additional coins before December, Strive is making one of the largest concentrated corporate bets on Bitcoin.
