Strive, a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company, purchased 2,000 Bitcoin between September 28 and October 2 at an average price of approximately $84,422 per coin, totaling roughly $169 million. This represents the company's largest Bitcoin acquisition in four months.
The purchase brought Strive's total Bitcoin holdings to 29,462 BTC as of October 2. Since July 2, the company's holdings have increased 48% in dollar value. At the time of the purchase announcement, Bitcoin traded around $86,000, slightly below Strive's average cost of $90,170 per coin at the end of September.
Strive's previous largest purchase occurred between May 23 and June 1, when the company acquired 2,500 Bitcoin. That transaction increased its holdings to 19,000 BTC at the time. The company's rapid growth accelerated following its agreement in September 2025 to acquire Semler Scientific, a healthcare technology firm holding approximately 5,000 Bitcoin. Shareholders approved the deal in January.
As a Bitcoin treasury company, Strive raises capital from investors and holds it in Bitcoin rather than cash. The company primarily funds its Bitcoin purchases through the sale of SATA, a preferred stock that pays shareholders a regular dividend. In the week ending September 25, SATA provided 85% of the capital raised. Strive currently pays approximately 13% annually on each $100 share of SATA.
According to its SEC filing, Strive held $284.7 million in cash with no debt. Among publicly traded Bitcoin holders, Strive ranks fifth, behind Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA.
