Sui (SUI) is hovering around $0.81 on Friday, rebounding from support near $0.70 as the broader cryptocurrency market stages a recovery. The token is approaching a critical resistance zone between $0.82 and $0.85 on the daily timeframe, with price action converging on a descending trendline that has restricted upward movement over the past several months.
Technical analysis shows strengthening momentum. The relative strength index has climbed to approximately 59.5, positioning comfortably above the 50 midpoint threshold. The MACD indicator is also displaying encouraging signals, with the MACD line crossing above its signal line and the histogram entering positive territory.
A confirmed daily close above the $0.82-$0.85 resistance zone would simultaneously breach the multi-month descending trendline. Should this occur, the next notable resistance level appears near $0.90, with the psychological $1.00 mark representing a major upside objective based on historical price action. Key support remains located in the $0.67-$0.70 range.
SUI's price movement mirrors a broader rebound across cryptocurrency markets following a challenging week shaped by Federal Reserve policy decisions and regulatory developments. Bitcoin reclaimed the $80,000 level on Friday, posting gains of approximately 5.7%, with numerous alternative cryptocurrencies following suit as bearish pressure diminished.
The rebound emerged following the Federal Reserve's rate increase and signals of a possible additional hike before year-end. Digital asset valuations initially experienced downward pressure in response to the announcement, but subsequently recovered as market participants processed the news.
Regulatory uncertainty also eased somewhat after the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act failed to advance in the Senate, falling short of the 60-vote threshold needed for procedural progression. The proposed legislation aimed to create comprehensive federal guidelines governing digital asset trading platforms.
Beyond technical considerations, the Sui ecosystem continues expanding its Layer-1 blockchain infrastructure built on the Move programming language, with development occurring across decentralized finance applications, payment solutions, and gaming platforms. Institutional adoption efforts remain active, with Nasdaq previously submitting an application to list a 21Shares SUI exchange-traded fund.
