Stablecoin Reward Ban Debate Intensifies as Clarity Act Stalls

Swiss banks are testing a digital franc stablecoin called CHFD to explore automated transactions, tokenized assets and programmable payments. Launched in April and operating in a sandbox since late June, the project includes UBS, PostFinance and Sygnum. Participants are testing potential uses such as reducing fraud in online marketplaces, improving event ticketing and streamlining public payments. The project will continue through 2026 under transaction limits and controlled conditions. The experimental phase aims to gather insights into the technology, value and regulatory requirements without committing to a commercial rollout.
