Three Altcoins to Watch as Bitcoin Faces Pressure Near $80,000

Bitcoin is struggling to maintain support near $80,000 after three consecutive weeks of losses, with weak investor confidence and global stock market volatility pressuring the broader crypto market. Against this backdrop, three altcoins are drawing attention in the final week of October: MemeCore (M), Ethena (ENA), and Zcash (ZEC).

MemeCore: Recovery Tests Resistance

MemeCore has climbed nearly 44% this week despite an extended downtrend, though its recovery faces an immediate test. The token is trading near $0.97, just below its $0.976 resistance level, where recent buying pressure has stalled around $1.

If M breaks above $0.976 and sustains the move, the next target would be $1.75, representing roughly 80% upside from current levels. A failure to hold could push the token back toward its $0.75 support level, a decline of approximately 23%. The token's RSI has recovered to neutral territory, signaling improving momentum, though the broader downtrend remains unconfirmed until a clear breakout occurs.

Ethena: Tightening Patterns Suggest a Move Ahead

Ethena has gained nearly 8% over the past week while establishing a pattern of higher lows since August. The token continues to defend support at $0.188, even following an October token unlock, indicating sustained buyer interest at that level.

Bollinger Bands are tightening and trading volume is declining—a pattern that often precedes sharp price movements, though without indicating direction. A move above current levels could target $0.244, approximately 19% higher. Loss of the $0.188 support would weaken the recovery and increase downside risk.

Zcash: Institutional Inflows and Technical Breakout

Zcash has gained 7% this week amid renewed institutional interest. Grayscale's Zcash investment product recorded $41.1 million in weekly inflows, its strongest performance since mid-September.

The token is attempting to reclaim $1,234 as support, with a daily close above this level strengthening the bullish case. A confirmed breakout could open a path toward $1,411, offering nearly 15% potential upside. Failure to maintain momentum could send ZEC back to $1,091, with further weakness below that level signaling a break in the recovery. Like Ethena, Zcash shows tightening Bollinger Bands, declining volume, and a neutral RSI reading.
