Tokenized Stock Holders Surge 928K in August, Largest Monthly Gain on Record

Tokenized stock adoption reached a milestone in August as the sector added 928,400 new holders, a 120% increase from July and the largest monthly gain since tracking began. The growth was driven by zero maker fees on Binance's bStocks platform and a major token expansion on Robinhood Chain.

Tokenized Stock Holders Surge 928K in August, Largest Monthly Gain on Record

Tokenized stock holders grew dramatically in August, with 928,400 new holders added to the ecosystem, according to data from Token Terminal. This represents a 120% increase from July's 771,000 holders and constitutes the largest single-month gain on record for the sector.

The August surge accounted for approximately 55% of all growth in tokenized stock holders since Token Terminal began tracking the metric. It was 3.4 times larger than the previous monthly record set in July, when approximately 272,000 new holders were added.

Chain and Issuer Distribution

BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain dominated adoption, collectively accounting for about 73% of all holders. BNB Chain led with 730,000 holders, followed by Robinhood Chain at 518,800. Solana (335,000 holders), Base (61,000), Ethereum (56,600), and other networks made up the remainder.

Among token issuers, Binance's bStocks platform saw the most significant growth, expanding from 52,900 holders in July to 464,700 in August and taking the number two position overall. Robinhood Crypto announced the launch of 100 additional stock tokens in mid-August, bringing its total past 190 tokens on Robinhood Chain.

Growth Drivers

Two primary factors drove the August expansion: Binance waived maker fees across all bStocks trading pairs throughout the month and significantly expanded its token listings. Robinhood Chain also launched during its first full operational month, supported by the platform's user base of roughly 28 million.

Important Caveats

The holder count represents wallet-level data rather than unique individuals. Single users can create multiple wallets, and promotional campaigns typically encourage this behavior. Additionally, the concentration of holders remained narrow, with the top three tokenized stocks accounting for significant portions of activity while most tokens remained thinly held.

Binance extended its zero maker fee promotion through September 30 and introduced bot trading features on bStocks pairs, meaning the incentives driving August growth remained active into the following month. The true sustainability of the expansion will become clearer in October once standard trading fees return.
