Ethereum recently held above the $2,500 support level, alongside Bitcoin remaining above $83,000 and XRP trading at $1.40. Amid these market conditions, Fundstrat co-founder and BitMine chairman Tom Lee forecasted that Ethereum would exceed $5,000 before the end of the year.
During a Coinage interview, Lee expressed confidence in Ethereum reaching a new record, pointing to the cryptocurrency's extended trading range and years of consolidation as a foundation for a potential breakout. CoinMarketCap records Ethereum's previous peak near $4,954, which was reached in August 2025. Additionally, Lee linked potential gains to Bitcoin's performance, projecting that ETH could reach approximately $7,500 if Bitcoin hits $100,000.
Several factors could influence market sentiment and digital asset performance. Upcoming economic data releases, including ADP employment figures, consumer and producer inflation, jobless claims, and Federal Reserve remarks, may influence interest rate expectations. Furthermore, potential market drivers include broader crypto market surges, renewed spot Ethereum ETF inflows, corporate purchases, network developments such as the planned Glamsterdam roadmap update, increased staking, higher ETH burning, and potential regulatory clarity from the CLARITY Act.
In the short term, analyst Ali Charts noted that Ethereum is forming a potential Adam and Eve bottoming pattern on the 10-minute timeframe. The analysis highlights a key neckline resistance level at $2,520, stating that a sustained close above this level could lead to a rally toward $2,640.
