Uniswap's network activity has climbed sharply, with daily active addresses reaching 14,591, the highest level in a year, according to Santiment data. The protocol added 13,137 new addresses, marking its biggest growth spike since September 2020.
The surge follows several ecosystem upgrades to the Uniswap protocol. VolatilePair Hook launched on October 14 with an ETH/USDC pool on Ethereum mainnet. Designed for Uniswap v4, it replaces static swap fees with market-responsive dynamic fees that recalculate separately for buy and sell transactions based on recent price movements, aiming to reduce liquidity providers' exposure to arbitrage losses during market volatility.
A week later, Uniswap v4 Aggregator Hooks rolled out, wrapping external liquidity sources including Curve, Fluid, and PancakeSwap and making them accessible to routers as v4 pools. Routers can compare quotes across Uniswap and external platforms, optimize trade routes, and settle swaps in a single transaction. Trades routed through external sources incur protocol fees that contribute to UNI token burn.
Unichain is scheduled to receive its OP Enterprise upgrade on October 29. Uniswap has generated over $6 billion in cumulative protocol fees according to DefiLlama, bringing in nearly $89 million over the past 30 days.
UNI is trading near $7.1. Santiment has identified $7 as a major support area and $7.5 as the next level to watch. Maintaining this price level and high network activity could keep UNI on track toward $8.
