After the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued a special measure order against MEXC Global, users of several centralized exchanges reported delays and extra compliance reviews on deposits originating from MEXC.
Reported delays on major exchanges
Customers transferring funds from MEXC to Binance, OKX and Gate said their deposits were held pending verification or were subject to extended review periods. The exchanges have not confirmed any platform‑wide suspension of MEXC transfers, and the number of affected users has not been disclosed.
Bitget Wallet card top‑up restrictions
Bitget Wallet announced that its card top‑up service no longer accepts funds identified as originating from MEXC. The restriction applies to card funding only and does not affect other wallet transactions.
FinCEN’s order and its scope
FinCEN’s November 6 order alleges that MEXC facilitated at least $16 billion in illicit transactions between May 2021 and May 2026, including sanctions evasion linked to Iran, North Korea and Russia. The order prohibits covered U.S. financial institutions from processing transfers involving MEXC, but the restrictions will become effective 30 days after publication in the Federal Register.
Exchange responses
MEXC stated that it is reviewing the order with its legal and compliance teams, maintains that its operations remain normal, and has launched an independent review of its anti‑money‑laundering and sanctions controls. No confirmed exchange‑wide block of MEXC transfers has been announced by Binance, OKX or Gate.
