Fintech company Utorg has launched Utapp, a new application designed to bring its self-custodial wallet and crypto card experience to iOS users. The application provides a single environment for users to buy, hold, send, swap, and spend digital assets.
Alongside core wallet and card functionality, the iOS release introduces gasless crypto swaps. Existing iPhone users can restore access to their existing wallets and cards within Utapp by using their recovery phrase. Utorg stated that it will email detailed instructions to affected users, while Android users can continue using the previous app without changes.
Daniel Stolberg, Co-founder at Utorg, described the release as a structural step for the company's next phase of expansion rather than a cosmetic update. According to Stolberg, the new environment establishes a foundation for upcoming wallet, card, and payment features scheduled for release in the coming months.
Utorg’s wider ecosystem currently serves more than two million users across over 130 countries. The company's card product enables users to spend cryptocurrency at more than 80 million merchants worldwide that accept standard cards. Additionally, Utorg's products are compliant with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulatory framework.
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Utorg is backed by Dragonfly and TA Ventures. The company confirmed that users can expect further announcements regarding new features, partnerships, and product launches as its global expansion continues.
