Abu Dhabi-headquartered fintech company Utorg has announced the launch of Utapp, a new iOS application that brings the company's self-custodial wallet and crypto card experience to Apple devices. Available now on the App Store, the release serves as a new consumer product environment designed to support the firm's upcoming expansions.
Alongside core wallet and card functionality, the iOS launch introduces gasless crypto swaps. Existing iPhone users can transition their accounts by restoring access using their recovery phrase, a process that Utorg is detailing via email for affected customers. Meanwhile, Android users will continue using the existing app without changes.
“Utapp is not a cosmetic update. It is the product home we have built for the next phase of our business expansion,” said Daniel Stolberg, Co-founder at Utorg. He noted that the platform establishes a stronger foundation for upcoming wallet, card, and payment products while maintaining user control over funds.
Utorg's broader ecosystem currently serves more than two million users across more than 130 countries. The platform combines a self-custodial wallet with tools to buy, hold, send, swap, and spend digital assets. Its accompanying card product enables users to spend cryptocurrency at over 80 million merchants worldwide where conventional cards are accepted.
The company's products operate within the European Union's regulatory framework for crypto-asset services as they are MiCA-compliant. This regulatory standing, alongside the company's expanding infrastructure, supports Utorg's global reach. Founded in 2019 and backed by Dragonfly and TA Ventures, Utorg plans to roll out additional features, partnerships, and product announcements in the coming months.
