Visa and crypto payments network Mesh have entered into a partnership designed to let consumers spend cryptocurrency and stablecoin balances directly from their digital wallets. The arrangement spans merchants across Visa’s global payment network.
According to an announcement made on Monday, the integration enables users of participating wallets to complete in-store or online purchases without needing to transfer funds to a bank account or acquire a separate crypto card. Merchants will receive the payments through Visa’s existing network infrastructure without requiring modifications to their checkout systems.
Visa’s network currently reaches more than 175 million merchant locations operating across over 200 countries and territories. Mesh stated that specific participating wallets, supported devices, and rollout dates will be shared as final plans are developed.
Under the partnership framework, Mesh will oversee transaction funding along with the conversion processes between cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and fiat currencies. Visa payment credentials will be provisioned directly through participating wallet applications, while Mesh will also manage customer onboarding and compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
This development follows Mesh’s integration with Bybit Pay in September, which enabled users to spend directly from exchange balances on supported platforms. Earlier in January, Mesh secured $75 million through a Dragonfly-led funding round that brought the company's valuation to $1 billion.
