Wirex, a global stablecoin infrastructure provider, announced the appointment of Kulveer Ranger, The Lord Ranger of Northwood, as Board Adviser to Wirex Labs, the company’s UK digital‑asset division.
Lord Ranger, a member of the House of Lords since 2023, sits on the Science and Technology Select Committee and co‑chairs the All‑Party Parliamentary Group on Digital Markets and Digital Money. He will advise Wirex on its UK digital‑asset strategy as the Financial Conduct Authority prepares to regulate the sector under a new regime starting in October 2027.
Before his peerage, Lord Ranger spent more than 25 years in technology and public policy, including roles as Director for Digital London, board member of Transport for London, senior vice‑president at Atos, and board member of techUK. He currently chairs the Digital Policy Alliance and the British‑Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Wirex co‑founder Pavel Matveev said the UK’s finalized digital‑asset rules provide a clear path for regulated businesses, and that Lord Ranger’s experience will be valuable for building Wirex’s UK presence. Executive Director of Wirex Labs Chetan Shah echoed the sentiment, highlighting the adviser’s expertise in technology, digital assets and public policy.
Upcoming speaking engagement
Lord Ranger is scheduled to speak at Full Stack London, Wirex’s stablecoin infrastructure conference, on 12 November. He will deliver a keynote on the evolution of the digital‑asset landscape and participate in a fireside chat with Chetan Shah.
The appointment is part of a broader effort by Wirex to strengthen its leadership team as it expands its services in the UK under the forthcoming regulatory framework.
