World Liberty Financial Expands Payments Technology to Mainstream Companies

World Liberty Financial is expanding beyond cryptocurrency trading infrastructure into payments technology for mainstream businesses. The company plans to extend its payments systems to large Web2 companies, with an initial focus on disbursing funds to drivers, contractors, and content creators.

The expansion is built around WLFI's USD1 stablecoin, which launched in March 2025 and has reached a circulation of approximately $4 billion to $4.4 billion across Ethereum and BNB Chain as of October 2026.

Technical Infrastructure

WLFI launched AgentPay in March 2026, an SDK that enables AI agents to handle USD1 transactions autonomously while maintaining self-custodial controls. Under this model, funds do not pool in a custodian's account before reaching recipients.

The company is also developing World Swap, a forex and remittance platform announced in February 2026. World Swap targets the global forex and remittance market, which processes approximately $7 trillion annually. The platform aims to reduce fees by routing transactions through stablecoin infrastructure instead of traditional correspondent banking networks.

To make the technology accessible to everyday users, WLFI is building a mobile app designed to simplify deposits and transfers.

Regulatory Approvals and Partnerships

In August 2026, USD1 received preliminary approval for a national trust bank charter from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. A trust charter permits digital asset issuance and custody under federal oversight, though it does not make a company a full commercial bank.

WLFI signed a memorandum of understanding with MOA Protocol on October 1, 2026, focusing on expanding USD1's role in remittances, payments, and AI-agent transactions. South Korea has been identified as a potential early market for this partnership.

Industry observers note that actual Web2 integrations will be the key measure of the company's progress, rather than memoranda of understanding alone.
