World Liberty Financial (WLFI) has proposed a Governance Engagement Incentive Program designed to encourage token holders to participate long-term in the project's ecosystem. The team plans to launch the program by October 1, pending approval.
The proposal outlines funding mechanisms for the staking rewards pool, which may draw from ecosystem sources including fees from World Liberty Markets, as well as additional ecosystem and marketing allocations dedicated to the staking program. If approved, the initiative will replace an earlier ecosystem proposal that the community had previously endorsed.
According to the team, the program will operate as a promotional campaign using promotional allocations and participation recognition to achieve its objectives.
Community Vote Underway
The WLFI community is actively voting on the proposal. At the time of reporting, 60% of holders voted in favor, approximately 37% voted against, and 2.62% abstained.
The WLFI token was trading at around $0.0573, down nearly 2% on the day, according to available data. Over the past month, the token has declined more than 8% despite broader cryptocurrency market gains during the same period.
Related Context
This development follows World Liberty Financial's receipt of conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for its national trust bank charter application. The approval supports the firm's plans to custody reserves for its USD1 stablecoin and issue the stablecoin under the GENIUS Act framework.
