X has expanded its Cashtag Partner Program to connect financial conversations on its timeline with trading services. The platform partnered with five major financial companies: crypto exchanges Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken, alongside traditional brokerages Interactive Brokers and Moomoo.
Smart Cashtags, which display interactive market information for stocks, exchange-traded funds, and cryptocurrencies, now include a new "Trade" option. When users tap a supported Cashtag, they can view price charts and related discussion posts before selecting the trade button, which redirects them to a participating platform where eligible customers can sign in or open an account.
X does not execute trades or hold customer assets through the feature. Instead, participating financial companies manage account requirements, order execution, and trading services.
"Cashtags close the gap between a ticker on the timeline and the market itself," said Mridul Singhai, X Product Engineering Lead. The program allows users to transition from ticker discussions to charts and trading providers seamlessly.
X also introduced Big Charts, an expansion of Smart Cashtags that provides larger interactive price charts for widely followed assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, Tesla, and Coinbase. The feature is available on iOS and the web.
The available assets and trading options may differ by provider, location, and account eligibility. The Cashtag Partner Program is currently available to U.S. users, and X has not announced expansion plans to other markets.
