XRP recovered above $1.40 as institutional inflows strengthened across the cryptocurrency market. Bitcoin held above $80,000 while Ethereum advanced beyond $2,500, with the total crypto market capitalization rising 3.05% in 24 hours to $2.7 trillion.
Record ETF Activity Signals Institutional Interest
US spot XRP exchange-traded funds saw $28.14 million in inflows on August 26, according to data from SoSoValue. This marked the second-highest daily inflow total for 2026, surpassed only by January 5 when the funds collected $46.1 million.
Bitwise's XRP ETF led the inflows with $13.12 million, representing 46% of combined activity. Franklin Templeton's XRPZ fund contributed $9 million, while Canary Capital's XRPC fund added $6.01 million. No flows were reported for 21Shares and Grayscale during the session.
Price Action and Market Indicators
XRP gained approximately 20% over seven days after three weeks of weakness. The token rallied to $1.69 but faced selling pressure from profit-taking. XRP traded at $1.4634 on August 27.
The Relative Strength Index registered 56.48, indicating regaining momentum above neutral levels. The Chaikin Money Flow measured 0.04, only slightly above the neutral level. The first resistance level stood at $1.50, with the next target at $1.60, approximately 9.3% higher than current levels. Support was holding near $1.38.
Whale Activity and Market Dynamics
Large holders accumulated approximately 460 million XRP, marking the highest number of buy actions since February. This accumulation signals greater confidence from institutional investors, though concentrated holdings can increase volatility.
Treasury bond buybacks contributed to improved liquidity across risk-sensitive markets. If XRP maintains the $1.40 support level, sustained ETF demand could support further price tests toward $1.69.
